Abstract:
An all-spherical catadioptric Gregorian telescope design suitable for meter class telescopes is described. A group of small lenses is placed at the intermediate focus of the Gregorian system to correct the aberrations of the fast (f/1.5 range) concave spherical primary mirror and concave spherical secondary mirror. The corrective lenses are of simple form and conventional substrate. The systems performance is diffraction limited in the visible portion of the spectrum and is ideal for narrow angle, broadband CCD imaging.
